I began working in system solutions as a graduate and have worked my way up to becoming team lead on a major software development contract for the company.


Role: Team Lead (Team Size: 5 People, Duration: 2½ Years)
Project: Multi-tier pharmacy application
Technology: Delphi, Midas and MS SQL Server
Customer: UK Pharmacy Group

  • Liased with customer to specify requirements.
  • Investigated suitable technology.

1993 - 1995


National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Co Kildare.Part time tutor helping first and second year computer science students with project work. I was involved inteaching Modula 2, C, SSADM, COBOL and SYBASE SQL to students.

1998 - 2000

MSc. in Software Engineering, NUI Maynooth. (2H1)

This is a part time course done over two years. It is designed to extend the theoretical knowledge gained in a primary degree to cover the more practical aspects of software engineering. The course is accredited by European Software Institute. The latest software engineering techniques are covered in the course, with a lot of emphasis on object oriented technologies such as UML and Design Patterns.


1991 - 1995


BSc. Double Honours in Computer science and Physics, NUI Maynooth.

This is a full time course done over four years. The computer science component consisted of many modules varying from the highly theoretical (e.g. parts of artificial intelligence and complexity theory) to very practical (e.g. C++, Visual Basic, SQL and Software Design)
